Active Learning Modules

Register your place on an Active Learning Module at GPCE Melbourne, each spanning across six high impact hours and focused on key clinical areas relevant to general practice.

Delegates will receive 40 RACGP Category 1 points / 30 ACRRM PRPD points per ALM completed and can complement this with additional 1 hour sessions for Category 2 points.

ALMs in 2019 include:

  • Asthma update - breathing new life into the management of asthma
  • Detecting and managing chronic kidney disease
  • Diabetes management in general practice - fresh thinking for better patient outcomes
  • Heart failure management - what do GPs need to know in 2019?
  • Helping your patients navigate through the menopause
  • Management of the emergency patient in the primary and remote setting
  • The timely diagnosis and improved management of dementia

Upgrade ALM to a Quality Improvement (QI) Activity

General practitioners currently have a mandatory requirement to complete a Quality Improvement (QI) activity as part of the current 2017-2019 triennium. The RACGP offer a ‘QI reflection’ activity that can be completed after any Category 1 activity (such as an ALM), which fulfils the QI activity criterion and also awards five Category 2 points.

The QI reflection activity is applicable to GPs who:
    • completed a Category 1 activity and have been allocated points this triennium
    • made changes or improvements in knowledge, attitudes, behaviours, skills, and/or practice systems as a result of the learning

The QI reflection form is available via the myCPD page on the myRACGP website, or through your local RACGP office.
