In Australia, it is estimated that approximately 1.7 million people aged >18 years have indicators of Chronic Kidney Disease. CKD if often overlooked and fewer than 10% of people are aware they have the condition. 1 in 3 Australian adults have risk factors for CKD. Other co-morbidities such as T2D, hypertension, established CV disease contribute to this increased risk.
This session highlights the importance of early screening, diagnosis and treatment of CKD with the goal of slowing the progression of this disease.
