Early detection and prompt management can help prevent up to 98% of diabetes-related visual impairment in your patients. General practice is ideally placed to help prevent blindness from microvascular disease in patients with diabetes. This workshop provides an overview of effective options for prevention, screening and management of diabetic retinopathy, discussion of new MBS items, and a hands-on opportunity to use a non-mydriatic retinal imager designed specifically for primary care.
