Dr Vicki Levidiotis
Dr Levidiotis is a specialist in renal medicine. She completed a PhD at University of Melbourne establishing the role of heparanase in immune and non-immune glomerular injury. She was a recipient of an NHMRC Postgraduate Research Training Fellowship which she relinquished when appointed to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in 2007, as a staff specialist in renal medicine. This is a conjoint position to the Faculty of Medicine, University of Sydney.
Her ongoing research interests include mechanisms leading to glomerular injury, immune mechanisms leading to acute & chronic rejection, cardiac disease in CKD, obstetric outcomes in transplant & dialyzed women and the longterm cardiovascular sequelae after hypertension in pregnancy. Vicki is currently an active member of the scientific and renal medicine community. She is a peer elected member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nephrology and Dialysis Nephrology and Transplant Subcommittee. She was recently appointed Chairperson for the Parental outcomes Group and an Australian and New Zealand Data Registry Steering Group member.
