Currently Dr Chen is VMO, Dept of Endocrinology and Metabolism, Concord Repatriation Hospital, Sydney; Director, Ryde Hospital Diabetes, Royal North Shore & Ryde Hospital Services, Eastwood; Director of Physician Training, Canterbury Hospital; Head Endocrinology & VMO, Canterbury Hospital; Clinical Tutor, Central Clinical School, University of Sydney; and Supervisor, Honours Program, Graduate Medical Program, University of Sydney.
His areas of research include: atypical antipsychotics and diabetes; follow-up of patients with gestational diabetes and subsequent development of type 2 diabetes; pharmacological intervention in subjects with impaired glucose intolerance; diabetes and cardiovascular disease; and hypoglycaemia.
