Dr Martin Gallagher
Martin received his primary degree from the University of Adelaide followed by basis physician training at RNSH. Advanced training was undertaken at RPAH/CRGH and in Darwin, before becoming a Staff Specialist then Head of Dept in Canberra. Additional qualifications are an FRACP and MPH (Hons) from University of Sydney.
Martin currently works as a Staff Specialist at CRGH and as a Senior Research Fellow in the Renal Division at The George Institute For International Health, a research institute affiliated with University of Sydney. His research interests include acute kidney injury (working on the RENAL study), renal epidemiology and health systems. He is currently enrolled in a PhD that looks at the factors that influence the uptake of evidence into clinical practice. He is also Chair of the CARI Steering Committee, the group that oversees development of renal guidelines in ANZ.
