Dr Gavin Sacks MA BM BCh PhD, MRCOG, FRANZCOG Fertility Specialist IVFAustralia Infertility, Gynaecology & Obstetrics
Dr Gavin Sacks qualified in the UK from the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford, and received a PhD in reproductive immunology at the University of Oxford. He completed training as a fertility specialist in London (UK equivalent of CREI), and was the senior registrar at the Hammersmith IVF unit, and the St Mary’s Miscarriage and Polycystic Ovary clinics. He is now living permanently in Sydney, having obtained fellowship of both the UK and Australian and New Zealand Royal Colleges of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Dr Sacks has continued his research interests in Sydney and is a part-time Staff Specialist at St George Hospital and conjoint senior lecturer at UNSW. He lectures regularly at national and international meetings, teaches and examines medical students at UNSW, and has over 30 publications in the fields of pregnancy immunology, infertility, miscarriage, and pre-eclampsia. He is currently investigating the role of natural killer cells in miscarriage, infertility and IVF. In addition to his work in infertility, Dr Sacks maintains a private obstetric practice, enabling him to provide continuity of care for many of his fertility/miscarriage patients from early pregnancy to birth. Dr Sacks’ special interests are IVF, unexplained infertility, recurrent miscarriage and surgical treatment of infertility.
