Medical Director IVFAustralia Infertility, Reproductive Endocrinology & Gynaecology

A/Prof Peter Illingworth is an accredited obstetrician and gynaecologist with over 20 years specialist experience in the area of infertility practice. He started his medical training in the UK, receiving his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and achieving his Doctorate of Medicine with honours at Dundee, UK. Having completed his obstetric and gynaecology training, he worked as a Senior Consultant at the UK Medical Research Council Reproductive Science Unit in Edinburgh.
Prof Illingworth has an international reputation in the field of Reproductive Medicine. He has published over 70 research papers and book chapters as well as providing regular media comment in Australia. He has served on a number of senior committees of the Australian National Health and Medical Research Council.
Prof Illingworth moved to Australia in early 1996 and completely subspecialised in Reproductive Endocrinology. He is Medical Director of IVFAustralia, Clinical Director of IVFAustralia Western Sydney, President of the Fertility Society of Australia, a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists UK, and is a Royal College examiner in the Certificate of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
Prof Illingworth has a special interest in reproductive endocrinology and disorders of female fertility.
