Active Learning Modules (ALMs)
Acitve Learning Modules (ALMs) provide an opportunity for a GP to be awarded 40 Category 1 points for activities focusing on their personal educational needs. ALMs provide quality structured education directed to acheiving demonstratable changes in the performance, knowledge, skills, behaviour and attitudes of GPs. Each module consists of a pre disposing activity, a structured learning activity and a reinforcing activity.
To complete an ALM at the GPCE, delegates can choose from 10 ALM streams that have specifically been designed for General Practice.
Delegates must complete Predisposing material which will be sent out 3 weeks prior to the conference to every delegate registered for the ALM.
Delegates must then attend 2 seminars and 4 workshops from the sessions offered in the ALM stream they would like to complete and then complete the reinforcing activity at the conclusion of the conference.
