GPs should be aware of the extent of this problem, how to recognise it, the co-morbid mental health diagnoses, associated personality issues and how to deal with them. This seminar will provide an update on the different types of drugs, their effects, their relationship to substance abuse and increased suicide risk and potential treatment and strategy options.
