Professor Ian Hamilton-Craig MBBS PhD FRACP FCANZ FLS
Foundation Professor of Medicine at the Faculty of Health Sciences & Medicine, Bond University, Gold Coast. He works as a preventive cardiologist at John Flynn Cardiology, John Flynn Private Medical Centre, Gold Coast. He is a Fellow of the Linnean Society of London and has a PhD in Medical Sciences from McMaster University, Canada. He has worked in the UK at Oxford, in Canada at Hamilton, Ontario, in Sweden at Gothenburg, and in Australia at Adelaide and Melbourne. Professor Hamilton-Craig has had a distinguished career in academic medicine and clinical practice as a preventive cardiologist. He has written three books for the general public: Cholesterol Control (Australia’s best-selling non-fiction book for three consecutive years), Men’s Health and Bypass. His current research is on venous thromboembolism and genetic dyslipidaemia. He is Director of the Genetic Cholesterol Foundation of Australia, a member of the CSANZ Working Group on Genetic Cardiovascular Diseases and Regional Director of MEDPED-Asia Pacific.
