Sometime Associate Dean, Faculty of Medicine; President Australian Society for Biochemistry & Molecular Biology; President Federation of Asian & Oceanic Biochemical Society; President 12th International Congress of International Union of Biochemistry; Treasurer International Union of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology; Professorial Fellow, Dept of Medicine, Melbourne University; Director, Centre for Molecular Biology & Medicine 1996 – continuing. Current research interests: molecular biology and medicine of the ageing process and age associated systemic diseases, particularly human skeletal muscle changes and the deleterious effects of statins on muscle. Professor Linnane has published some 300 papers.
