Dr Rick Jarman MBBS FRACP
Rick is a consultant paediatrician specialising in developmental and behavioural paediatrics. He graduated MBBS from Melbourne University in 1979 and received his specialist FRACP qualification as a consultant paediatrician in 1988. He received a travelling scholarship to complete a fellowship in developmental and behavioural paediatrics at the University of Massachusetts Medical Centre in Boston USA between 1986 and 1989, after which he returned to Australia as a full-time paediatrician at the Royal Children’s Hospital. He was appointed deputy director of the Dept of Ambulatory Paediatrics at RCH in 1191 and Director of Clinical Services in 1994. He is currently senior paediatrician at the Royal Children’s Hospital and head of the Child Behaviour Clinic. He has received a number of competitive research grants, has 46 peer reviewed publications and serves on a number of state and national professional organisations. He currently works at the RCH public clinic a day a week and is in private practice at the RCH and North Balwyn 4 days a week.
