Dr Kathy Paizis
Dr Paizis completed medicine at the University of Melbourne in 1986 and internship and residency at St Vincent’s in Melbourne, followed by specialist training in renal medicine. She completed her PhD in 1998 looking at HB-EGF in animal models of proteinuric kidney disease. From 1997 to 2001 she worked at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide, involved in the care of Aborigines with renal disease. She is now a consultant at Austin Health dealing with chronic renal disease, dialysis and transplantation and also works in obstetric medicine at Mercy Hospital for Women.
