Child & Adolescent Mental Health - A Family Affair
The challenges of diagnosis, successful referral and treatment in child & adolescent mental health disorders. Aims to assist the GP with identifying and management of child & adolescent mental health disorders and helping families accept and use treatment options. Discussion: there are two obstacles to children and adolescents receiving needed mental health care. Children may present with clinically significant emotional problems, yet not to Rx. In addition, it is not uncommon for families to reject diagnosis and treatment plans. To address this situation, this workshop covers the diagnostic interview and, helpful mental health checklists to facilitate a fast assessment in the medical practice specifically for purposes using a 2710 mental health care plan and gives guidelines for managing noncompliant families.
