3. Hyperlipidaemia and Integrative Medicine

Hyperlipidaemia is a heterogeneous disorder characterised by increased circulating levels of plasma cholesterol, low density lipoprotein–cholesterol, triglycerides and apolipoprotein B and reduced high density lipoprotein–cholesterol concentrations. This workshop will review clinical trials that have studied the efficacy of life style modifications and the factors that may impede changes to take effect, pharmaceutical and integrative therapies to treat lipid abnormalities.
