GPs role in Preventative Medicine - Identifying Behavioural Risk in Youth
Family involvement can significantly contribute to preventing health problems in youth. Adolescents may not be forthcoming in sensitive matters like drug
experimentation, even if their parents observe concerning behavioural changes. This session will provide a family centred approach to preventing teenage drug and alcohol problems. It will discuss working with parents, taking drug histories, and providing advice to families.
