Malabsorption & Maldiestion - Pancreatic Exocrine Insufficiency: Seeking the signs

The seminar will look at the under and often misdiagnosed areas of maldigestion and malabsorption in adults of all ages. Specific areas will include:
• Role of the GP in looking for Pancreatic Exocrine Insufficiency
- Differential diagnosis
- Clinical assessment & Treatment with Pancreatic Enzyme Replacement Therapy
- When to refer and who to?
• Patient treatment pathway
• Guidelines summary - the first Australasian, evidence-based, treatment guidelines for the management of pancreatic exocrine insufficiency are to be published in early 2010.
