Hep B & Hep C Update – The Role of the GP, Epidemiology interpretation of test and management

This session will provide General Practitioners with up to date information and recommended guidelines on monitoring patients with hepatitis B & C in primary care including:
- Testing and interpreting test results in ongoing monitoring of patients with hepatitis B & C
- Establishing which patients are at risk of hepatitis B & C disease progression - Assessment and indications for hepatitis B & C antiviral therapy
- Monitoring for complications of liver disease
Learning Objectives
- Increase ability to identify those at risk and diagnose HIV in the
primary care setting
- Understanding of the principles of HIV testing and the ability to interpret test results
- Understanding of the medico-legal requirements of medical practitioners
