Retinopathies and Blindness - Macular Degeneration, Diabetic Retinopathy and Retinal Vein Occlusuion: How to diagnose and manage

Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD), Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) and Retinal Vein Occlusion (RVO) are some of the leading cause of blindness in the western world. There are available treatments that can prevent vision loss and in certain instances help patients regain and improve vision. However, early detection and urgent referral are crucial in preserving vision. This seminar will be a review of simple screening measures. Participants will also learn how new diagnostic tools and state-of-the-art therapies can help patients fight these retinal diseases that cause blindness.
