This ALM covers information and updates relating to the field of Health & Nutrition. New findings and information from new clinical trials and new advances in the field of prevention are essential knowledge for a GP to help manage patients in order to obtain better health outcomes and also assist in delaying progression of many diseases. Traditional medicine is now incorporating a more holistic approach to patient care. This module also encompasses updates, advice and the latest science and clinical evidence across a range of areas including food allergies, obesity, the developing immune system and fad diets.
This ALM constitutes 6hours of education – 4 of which are interactive either with case presentations, role plays, discussions or practical skills. Each activity makes provision for a Q&A session which the facilitator helps coordinate. Delegates must include 4 of the interactive workshop activities, that is two thirds of the ALM, to qualify for this ALM. The remaining 2 hours may be chosen from the seminars or other interactive workshops.
