Active Learning Modules (ALMs) provide an opportunity for a GP to earn 40 category 1 points. ALMs provide quality, structured education directed to acheiving demonstratable changes in the performance, knowledge, skills, behaviour and attitudes of GPs. Each module consists of a pre-disposing activity, structured learning activities and a reinforcing activity and evaluation.
To complete an ALM at the GPCE, delegates can choose from 12 ALM streams that have been specifically designed for General Practice. Delegates must complete predisposing material which will be sent out 3 weeks prior to the conference. Delegates must then attend 4 workshops from the sessions offered in the ALM stream they would like to participate and then complete the reinforcing activity at the conclusion of the conference.
