Dr Dina LoGiudice is a Consultant Physician in Aged Care, completing advanced training in geriatric medicine in 1993. Since that time she has worked at Melbourne Health at the Royal Park Campus, a position she still holds. In 1993 she commenced a PhD thesis entitled "The Assessment of Services for Elderly People with Dementia", which was completed in 1998. This research was based at NARI, at which she currently holds a position as honorary Senior Associate. Her main clinical and research interests are in assessment and management of dementia of older people and their families. This is reflected in her clinical work as Consultant of the Complex Secure GEM ward (management of moderately severe people with dementia) and also as Coordinator of the Cognitive Dementia and Management Service, both based at the Royal Park Campus of the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Dr Dina LoGiudice has been awarded NHMRC funding in collaboration with the University of Western Australia to develop a cognitive assessment tool for Aboriginal people living in the Kimberley region and determine the prevalence of dementia and other chronic health conditions in this population.
