Accreditation for RACGP Members
The 2011-2013 Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) QI&CPD triennium requires GPs to earn 130 CPD points of which 80 are compulsory Category 1 points and the remainder are Category 2 points. CPR training is mandatory and earns 5 CPD points.
The GPCE ALM programs give you the opportunity to gain Category 1 CPD points over three days.
Active Learning Modules (ALM) – (40 Category 1 CPD points)
Category 1 Points – 40 CPD points
Participating in an ALM program is only available to those who have applied for it and complete and return a predisposing activity, an evaluation and reflective activity.
To complete an ALM stream you must complete six hours of activity. At least 4 of the 6 sessions (hours) must be interactive workshops - the other two can be either seminars or workshops.
How to register and qualify for Category 1 points:
- On the registration form mark the appropriate box of your chosen ALM and then mark your 6 sessions. e.g. ALM A
- Four weeks prior to the conference you will need to download your ALM predisposing activity from the GPCE website.
- Complete the predisposing activity set out for your chosen ALM; this will need to be placed in the collection box at the conference (next to the registration desk in the foyer).
- Attend your 6 sessions (hours) at the GPCE.
- Complete the evaluation form and reflective activity with your QI number; this also needs to be placed in the collection box at the conference (next to the registration desk in the foyer).
- Checklist for handing in your material at the end of the conference: Certificate of Attendance with QI number, predisposing activity, ALM evaluation form & reflective activity & daily delegate surveys (given to you in your delegate pack).
Failing to submit any of the above or not attending 6 sessions within your stream will result in you only being able to claim for Category 2 CPD points.
Category 2 Points – 2 points per hour
All activities will be submitted to the RACGP QI&CPD program.
How to register for Category 2 points:
- Select sessions
- Attend the conference
- Complete the evaluation form with your QI number
- Checklist for handing in your material at the end of the conference: Certificate of Attendance with QI number, daily delegate surveys (given to you in your delegate pack).
How do I get my QI&CPD points?
On your last day at the conference hand in your signed Certificate of Attendance and other paperwork as listed above. This material will be collected and collated for accreditation. Once this has been done we will inform you of any paperwork that is missing. Within four weeks of the conference your points will be sent to the RACGP and a copy of your Certificate of Attendance will be sent to you in the post. The RACGP will send you out your statement with the points allocated for that triennium with their next quarterly update.
